Dehradun International Film Festival 2015 concluded with the statement by Mr. Rajesh Sharma, the festival Director who said that his objective was to not only bring the local talent but also to enable the youth to portray their potentialities and capabilities before the celebrities and other dignatories who were present from all across during the festival. Simulatenousy he also aimed to boost domestic and international tourism.
Closing ceremony started with a big bang when the festival patron Sushma Seth and festival Director Rajesh Sharma addressed the audience and welcome Hon. Chief Minister of Uttarakand Sh. Harish Rawat and all three honored Moushmi Chatterji with life time achievement award.
Harish Rawat then honored Sushma Seth, Saurabh Shukla, Himani Shiv puri, Seema Biswas, Ambassador of Taiwan, Festival director Rajesh Sharma and Naseer Abdullah with momentos.
The Directors/Actors and producers of the movie were also recognised and honored with trophies for their films by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Harish Rawat. He then addressed the audience and praised all the good work done by Dehradun International Film Festival 2015 which was a hit within its first year.”

The festival started on 25th Sept ‘2015 with Japanese Wife as the opening film starring Moushmi Chatterjee
With some serious cinema screened in the 3 day journey showcasing films which were screened in India for the first time like Shackle , One Missed call and Crossed.
In This festival total 19 films/Short films screened in 3 days at 2 venues for the screening mainly being the Silver City (25th Sept -27th Sept) and added Tula’s on 26th Sept to take these films to students so that they get an opportunity to watch the films which have never been screened in India before
Being Woman – A great film based on Women of today and men of yesterday received pleasing response from the youth of Dehradun.
Some International classics were showcased from Taiwan at Tula’s institute and Silver City with Mr. Ambassador of Taiwan himself representing the Movies cape No. 7 and Ever lasting moments which had prodigious story lines .
Some amazing movies were witnessed which were not only shot and directed in Uttrakhand but also the entire crew and cast belongs to Uttarakhand. These films gave a strong social message. The Silent heroes by Mahesh Bhatt is one of the great example which showcased the immense local talent.
We screened couple of masterpiece’s “Bandit Queen” starring Saurabh Shukla ji ,Seema Biswas ji who won the national award as well for this movie and Junoon Starring Sushma Seth ji along with great talented co actors directed by a legend director Shyam Benegal.
Rajpal Yadav was seen interacting with students along with other respected celebrities at Tula’s institute .
